In these case you might be presented with the error `The browser cannot access your camera`
Close other apps
In some cases the browser will block access to the camera if you have other video conferencing program open, like Skype, Google Hangouts, appear.in.
Try closing all the apps that might be using the camera and refresh the VideoInterview page.
VideoInterview relies on HTML functionalities that work best in modern browsers. We support the two most recent version of modern browsers, so double check that your browser is up-to-date. For best results try with either Chrome or Firefox.
Some users have reported sporadic error with different combinations of browsers and operating system. If your camera is not working, try using another supported browser.
If your browser is up-to-date it is still possible that the camera permissions are stale, another application that was using it might not have closed correctly.
In this case we recommend restarting your computer.
MacOS 10.14 (Mojave)
The new MacOS Mojave has introduces some privacy controls that can block your camera at the system-level. It might be possible that your settings are too restrictive.
1. Click on the apple icon in the top left > System Preferences
2. Click on Security & Privacy
3. Click on Camera and make sure the tick box for your browser is selected
4. Repeat the same step for the Microphone
5. Restart your browser for the changes to take effect
If none of the above steps work, the problem might be caused by third party extensions or adblocker that interact with the page. Try restarting your browser in Incognito or Private mode, this should disable all extensions.
